FOLK ART FLEA MARKET!
In order to continue and increase community support
for exhibitions and educational programs at the Museum of
International Folk Art, the Friends of Folk Art are organizing
our first community-wide Folk Art Flea Market! We welcome
and look forward to receiving donation from private collections,
wholesale and retail businesses and the community at large!
We
have three days before the market reserved for everyone
to bring their donations to the auditorium at the Museum
of International Folk Art.
Donations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday
through Friday, May 14 through 16, 2008.
In exchange for your donation, you will receive a tax-deductible
donations receipt.
If you need to donate items BEFORE May 14-16, please take
your donation to Andrea
Fisher Fine Pottery» at 100 W. San Francisco Street
(San Francisco & Don Gaspar) in downtown Santa Fe. If
you are bringing a large quantity of items, or large items,
please alert Andrea by calling 986-1234. Andrea Fisher Fine
Pottery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
So, please begin to set aside now your gently used
folk art» that you no longer need. Or these "what
was I thinking" purchases made on vacation, or well
intentioned gifts that don't fit you or your lifestyle!
Items Needed in Gently Used or Like New Condition:
Ethnic Apparel-cleaned, pressed, on hangers
Jewelry- in working order, ready to wear
Toys-lead free in working order, or toys for display
only
Kitchen accessories-including cooking utensils, glassware,
flatware, etc. that fall into the folk art category (i.e.-
no toaster ovens or appliances)
Art- framed and stand-alone pieces
Ceramics
Textiles, Linens & Rugs
Masks
Lamps/Lighting fixtures
small furnishings-tables, cabinets
Old postcards, graphics, photos
This is a very specialized sale, no your usual Flea Market!
We can only accept
folk art» items! The Friends of Folk Art reserve
the right to re-price an item after acceptance. A tax-deductible
donations receipt will be provided for all donations.
The
Folk Art Flea Market will be held on Saturday May 17, 2008.
Members of the Friends
of Folk Art» are invited for Continental breakfast
and first pick from 8 to 10 a.m. The general public will
be allowed in at 10 a.m. when the Museum opens. All items
will be sold in "as is" condition, all sales will
be final, no refunds or exchanges.
